It was studied 13 locals of Guanabara affected by the mass movement in the very rainy days occurred in January 1966 and February 1967. The locals had showed clearly the influence of the geological and geomorphological conditions to the phenomena occurrence... This work is principally a geomorphological analysis detailed of the presented conditions among six studied areas, like Furnas road, 1580; Santo Amaro street, 210; Belisário Távora, 581; Niemeyer avenue, 150 m Gruta da Imprensa; Benjamim Batista in the corner of Abade Ramos and Urubu's mountain.
For any case it was realized a systematical lift of the following aspects:
- a) Topography
- b) Lithography
- c) Structure
- d) (elluvial and colluvial regolito)
- e) Human action
- f) Water's circulation
The information and the deposits had permit an approach with the predispositions (passives causes of the movements) and the quality of the dislocatement occurred.
It had represented a very important aspect the human action in the occurrence of the slop's movement predisposed to it due to the presented characteristics by the water's circulation (superficial and of infiltration). The majority of the studied cases the water's circulation and the intemperism’s procedure relative to the circulation are principally led by the existent interrelations between the geological structure and the topographical forros.
It was observed with some frequency movements including slopes that had present similar characteristics:
- a) diaclasated band and altered wich rejoins the superficial waters than that of infiltration
- b) areas where a curve diaclasis separate an altered superficial stone (and permeable) of
underlying unpermeable stone it was wick obliquely in the slope.
- c) locals where the curve diaclasis separate the rooky stone unparalleled to the slopes
- d) ramp deposits that store the waters since the rocky scarps.
