Global climate change is one of the biggest challenges of this century. Although its effects are global, its impacts are felt more acutely in vulnerable countries, environments, and communities. This paper seeks to demonstrate Spain's experience in adapting to climate change and discuss the feasibility of applying some of the strategies adopted in Spanish cities to the Brazilian context. The methodological procedures involved a literature review and visits to Spanish cities to assess adaptation strategies that might inspire Brazilian cities. The Spanish experience shows that an innovative, integrated approach based on nature-based solutions can strengthen Brazil's climate resilience through viable, effective and low-cost strategies.
