Abstract:

This study presents a methodology for classifying metropolitan transportation systems and sub-systems, for identifying their functional, operational and spatial problems and priorities, as well as for recommending policies for public intervention, based on the global objectives of efficiency and equity.

The study is principally normative in character, developing methodological instruments designed to improve effectiveness in the implementation of public objectives in the area of metropolitan transportation.
