Aspectos da economia da borracha no Território do Acre

Abstract

This paper describes the process used in the extraction of rubber, the chief product of the Territory of Acre: trying to define the position of rubber in the economy of that region, the author describes the methods used by seringueiros, rubber exctractors, emphasizing the low standard of living of this regional type and the difficulties involved in supplying the seringais, rubber properties, with foodstuffs, chiefly because of their position high up river.
