Industrialização e tamanho urbano

Abstract

In order to provide a deeper understanding of the industrialization process of the Brazilian urban system, this study analyzes:

- the evolution of the urban-industrial structure of the Brazilian centers straddled by urban size;

- the evolution of some features of Brazilian industrialization through a set of indicators for each class of cities.

The objective of such analysis ls to support urban growth policies that can attain more effective results concerning industrial and urban decentralization by means of the Industrial sector as an instrument for action.
