Introdução à geobotânica

Resumo

            In the present article the author summarizes what was explained by him in four lectures trying to give a general sketch about geobotanic establishing its concepts, importance and application on human benefit.

            Coming back to science historical origins he emphasizes the important paper performed by HUMBOLDT that he considers as being the founder of phytogeography, named today geobotanic; although the author considers phytogeography as a more restrict part of geobotanic only occupied in studying plants localization on the earth surface.

            After classifying geobotanic giving a scheme the author studies the kinds of vegetation and systematizes, in this field, our hemisphere, ending presenting an essay about names compilation.
