Estudo geomorfológico de uma Região do Alto Rio Branco

Resumo

            Studying a small area of the high Rio Branco region the authoress outlines her work escamining carefully the relief. hydrography, erosion levels, planed surfaces, the plain and the climate.

            Geomorphologically she explains the relief features by the types of out crop rocks of the region; "cuestas", abrupt relief with convex or straight slopes for eruptive rocks, emphasizing the landforms connected to structural and erosive phenomena.

            However she comes to the conclusion that the occurrence of certain plain factors, as depressions, are structural and are dependent of the climate, of the lack of vegetation and of little thickness of the soils in great extension of rocky outcrops.

            This climate is characterized by a strong daily insolation, suffering in the humid season, a torrential regime that changes the rivers in real torrents dragging everything and impoverishing the soil.

            Under the economic view point, she stops in the utilization of plane or slightly wony zones for building airports and roads they make possible the connection of agricultural production and kettle centers as an indispensable factor to the circulation of the region richness. She continues coming to the possibilities of captivation water for the building of hydroelectric factories.
